Welcome to Friends of Honley Infant School (FOHIS)

What is FOHIS?

FOHIS raise funds for the Infant School at various social events throughout the school year. We are a friendly group of parents who meet once a month to plan and discuss upcoming events and we really need your help!! If you would like to get involved please come along to a meeting or let us know if you can volunteer your time at an event. 

Why do Honley Infant School need FOHIS?

FOHIS puts all the money raised back into the school for the benefit of your children. We liaise with the staff to find out what equipment they would like FOHIS to fund whether it be electronic white boards, climbing frames, new toys etc and we fund trips out of school.

Below is an example of just a few of the things FOHIS funded in 2011/2012;

  • New interactive whiteboard and new class quiet room £3000 
  • Sound system in school hall £1700
  • Golden Time toys for 5 key stage 1 classes £250
  • Two new playground scooters £200
  • Gardening Club £200
  • Story Sacks for Early Years children £200
  • Contributions towards the pantomime and coach travel for all school trips £1200
  • Easter eggs and Christmas presents for every child at their class parties 

The children also benefit from having events to attend and enjoy such as the Christmas Fair, Easter Egg Bingo, a Summer BBQ and the Valentines Disco. We also arrange fundraising evenings for parents to socialise such as curry night and ladies night. If anyone has new ideas for fundraising please do get in touch!

All the FOHIS meetings take place in a classroom at the School.

Dates for your Social Calendar 2012

Valentines Disco.  Years 1 & 2, 22nd February.  Details to follow.

Social Night 1st March.  Curry night in Honley details TBC.  Please save the date, everyone welcome!

Scholastic Book Fair.  In the school hall 7th-9th March.  Times TBC.

Easter Egg Bingo.  Friday 23rd March at Honley Community Centre 6-730pm. More details to follow.

Honley Schools Summer Gala.  Saturday 30th June.  Details TBC - keep the date free!
